Reasons why visit Indonesia

This year the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has declared 2008 as a Visit Indonesia Year. Visit Indonesia Year has officially launched on 26th December 2007. This national marketing activities also used to commemorate 100 years of Indonesia's national awakening. The target already set for 7 millions tourists. Do you thing is it feasible?

Indonesia with a vast archipelago of more than 17,000 islands, comprising 2 millions square kilometers since 2000 on average, 5 million foreign tourists each year with average stay 9 – 12 days. Our country Indonesia gains US$ 4.6 billion income annually which is make tourism being an important component of the Indonesian economy. But if we compare with our tiny neighbor Singapore hit 10.3 millions visitor last year, we have to be more serious about tourism. Any ideas?

Build new toilets, Dalton Tanonaka said. He reminded the United Nations has designated 2008 as the International Year of Sanitation. China had been succeed regularly hold the World Toilet Summit, to show off that its country also aware about comfort innovation, sanitation, etc. My question is, have we ever attended the Summit? I doubt since regional surveys place Indonesia near the bottom in terms of hygiene infrastructure. Mostly public sanitation is much worst than the same sanitation at Mall, Hotels. Maybe it's all about how we serve our people before serve foreigner.

It's look so many problems in our country as tourism destination, even it just one case from Dalton. Jump it. Let's talk about reasons why tourist must visit Indonesia?

2.Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands, not only Bali, Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, or Papua. They all unique, and diverse.
